Umatilla Qualifier - July 9, 2011
Pre-registration is highly encouraged. For mailed entries, a completed entry form and the entry fee must be received by Northwest Bass no later than Wednesday 7/6.
Off-Limits: Tournament waters are off-limits the Tuesday prior to the tournament until blast-off on Saturday. Monday, July 4th is open for pre-fishing.
On-Site Registration Fee: Please remember, in order to encourage pre-registration we are now charging a per team $20 on-site registration fee.
On-Site Registration and check-in will be held Friday 7/8, 4:00-8:00 pm at Umatilla Marina Park and again Saturday morning 7/9, 3:00-4:30 am.
Drivers Meeting: Saturday 7/9, 4:30 am with blast-off to follow (approx. 5:00). Have your live well inspected and boat in the water before the drivers meeting.
Weigh-In: Weigh-in is tentatively scheduled to begin at 3:00 on Saturday. Flights and weigh-in times will be assigned at the drivers meeting.
Lock-Thru: The tournament is permitted for lock-thru of McNary up to Lake Wallula. Anglers are responsible for making sure they get through the locks on time! Anglers that lock-up into Wallula must have a Washington State license to fish beyond the point where the river turns north into Washington. Special lock-thru times will be announced at the tournament. Lock times are tentatively scheduled for 6:00 am up and 2:30 pm down.
Licenses: In the Columbia River where it forms the state boundary line, not including tributaries, sloughs and lands, the following rules apply:
License and tags of either state are valid.
Anglers must follow the rules of the state in which they are fishing.
Anglers that are residents of either Oregon or Washington may launch or take out their boats from either shore, regardless of which state license they hold.
Anglers that are not resident of either Oregon or Washington (i.e. Idaho) must possess a nonresident license for the state in which they are landing.
When fishing on tributaries, sloughs or from the land of a state, the angler must be licensed by that state and obey all angling regulations of that state.
Tournament boats must be clearly marked as “Contestant” or “Tournament” in a manner visible without magnification from a minimum distance of 50 yards.
Reminder:
Registration, Drivers’ Meeting and Blast Off
Tournament registration will be halted prior to the start of the drivers meeting. Registration will resume after the drivers meeting. Those anglers that did not check in prior to the drivers meeting will automatically be assigned to flight #1 for weigh-in, however, they will not blast-off until the end of the last flight.
It is imperative that all boats have their live wells checked and be in the water before the drivers meeting. The Tournament Director will not delay blast off due to anglers that have not had their live wells checked or have not safely launched their boats. In the event your boat is not in the water at the time your number is called, your blast off will be delayed until the Tournament Official re-calls your number. In most cases your number will be recalled at the end of the last flight and before the first number of the late registrants.
Regardless of blast off time, you and your partner will be required to return for weigh-in at the time of your assigned flight.
If tournament officials fail to check your boat, please seek them out ASAP prior to blast off. In rare cases in order to expedite the blast off, a drive by check will be permitted. All drive by checks must be cleared by the Tournament Officials prior to blast off.
As always changes made to this format are at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Please register early.
